Cabins are a four piece band originally hailing from the Central Coast of NSW. In 2010, they cut their teeth on the national gig circuit and made quite a reputation for themselves as ‘ones to watch’.
Released last year, their debut mini album ‘Bright Victory’ is a mix of menace and melody. Surrealistic tales penned by front man Leroy F are carried along by musical arrangements full of woozy pianos, horns, sparse guitars and a rhythm section that at times threatens to play itself into a trance.
The last half of 2010 saw Cabins play a successful east coast headlining tour in August in support of ‘Bright Victory’ as well as highlight sets at choice festivals such as the ‘Changing Lanes’ FBi fundraiser fest, ‘Fat As Butter’ and the ‘Pyramid Rock Festival’ over NYE.
Cabins have toured in the company of such contemporaries as The Mess Hall, Children Collide, The Soft Pack, Alberta Cross, Tame Impala and You Am I, all signs pointing to a unique band on a dizzyingly sharp ascent.
