When Deep Sea Arcade told us they were going to cover The Chemical Brothers‘ ‘Let Forever Be’ for triple j’s Like A Version, we were quietly confident they’d do a good job. What we weren’t prepared for was the unbelievable onslaught of awesome that ensued when they hit the studio. Even The Chemical Brothers themselves chimed in with a tweet to give their seal of approval. Watch this and weep for joy. Extra special massive props to the powerhouse rhythm section of Nick Weaver + Carlos Adura.

If it’s possible to believe, Deep Sea Arcade further excelled in the triple j studio when they performed their new single ‘Seen No Right‘, from their debut album ‘Outlands‘. Have a gander here.

Lanie Lane Nominated For Four APRA Awards!

We are very excited to report that Lanie Lane has just recieved the news that she has been nominated for a cheeky four APRA Awards. The Australasian Performing Rights Association are the really nice people who make sure songwriters get paid and these awards are all about songs and song writers, so it’s a massive honour for Lanie to be nominated in these peer-voted gongs to be held in Sydney on the 28th of May. Her nominations are in the following categories:

APRA Song of the Year
Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year
Blues & Roots Work of the Year (x2 : ‘What Do I Do’ and ‘Cowboy’)

Lanie Lane To Support Jack White In Australia

It doesn’t get much better than this – Lanie Lane will be joining Jack White for his solo shows in Melbourne and Sydney this July. Lanie, who has had a tremendous year and is selling out her own shows across the country, will also be playing at Splendour In The Grass along with our favourite new friends, The Rubens.

The Jack White tour promises to be pretty special indeed, and we’re secretly hoping Mr White sees fit to join Lanie for a rendition of the tracks he produced for her and released on his Third Man Records label – ‘Ain’t Hungry’ and ‘My Man’. Lanie Lane Sells Out Shows + Adds New Dates

Lanie Lane is excited beyond comprehension and totally knocked out by the news that her two shows at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne and show at Metro Theatre in Sydney on her upcoming ‘Bangity Bang’ tour have SOLD OUT.

New shows have now been added in both cities: Corner Hotel in Melbourne on Monday May 28 and Metro Theatre in Sydney on Saturday June 2. Tickets for both shows are on sale NOW.

Lanie recently returned from SXSW in Austin, Texas where she was lucky enough to be part of Jack White’s Third Man Records showcase alongside such artists as Mr. White, Karen Elson, Black Belles, Reggie Watts, and John C Reilly. Queues for the show stretched four blocks, and needless to say, it was a night to remember.

Joining Lanie and her band on tour are our brand new signing The Rubens, who have themselves been selling out venues all over the country multiple times over with good reason – they’re amazing. And speaking of which, the tour will kick off every night with the incomparable Steve Smyth, an artist of rare ability with a voice that will quite simply blow your mind.

Watch Catcall’s New Video For ‘The World Is Ours’

Pom pom peddling, not so cheery cheerleaders and high school hotties all feature in Catcall‘s brand new video for ‘The World Is Ours‘. The new jam is from her debut album ‘The Warmest Place‘ which we’re stoked to be releasing on May 4. It’s a killer album and we’re not the only ones who think so – Time Out Sydney are already calling it “the best Australian pop record you’re going to hear this year” and Polaroids of Androids reckon it’s “the standout Pop album of 2012/2013″. Not bad.
