15 Days of IVY LEAGUE turning 15! Day 11: Andy C & Al

Name: Andy Cassell

Role: Label Director

Favourite Single: Today it’s ‘Ordinary’ By Red Riders

Favourite Album: A dead heat between, Things To Learn by The Silents, Bliss Release by Cloud Control, and Outlands by Deep Sea Arcade

Favourite Ivy Memory: Far too many but here’s some:

– Dinner at Mamma Maria’s in Newtown with Pete and Andy when we first hatched our cunning plan to start a label.
– One of many sleep deprived Tarago trips either on the Hume or The Pacific Hwy with Youth Group.
– Ten Years In the Trenches
– Gambling all my loose change on Lauda Air with Chris Maund en route to Frankfurt.
– And who could forget ‘ol Guitar Boat

Name: Al Grigg from Red Riders

Favourite Ivy League song not your own: There’s a bunch of em. But I’m gonna go with Josh Pyke – Beg Your Pardon. That first EP has so many goodies on it, but Beg Your Pardon is so bittersweetly heart-breakingly perfect.

Favourite Ivy League album not your own: It would have to be Cloud Control – Bliss Release. God so many good songs on that sucker. I wish I was in that band.

Favourite Ivy League Memory: Being 23 and touring the country with Youth Group (who had theremin player Owen Penglis in tow) and interpretive dancing like a mad man with Cameron in Shots Nightclub in Adelaide till stupid o’clock.
