CLOUD CONTROL release ‘Promises’ & accompanying video!
CLOUD CONTROL have hit back with their latest single ‘PROMISES’, another killer selection from their highly acclaimed second album DREAM CAVE.
Opening with a commanding baseline, the intensity and desperation of ’Promises’ cuts in quick with front man, Alister Wright’s, raw ’50s crooner vocals “Maybe that, harmony, promises, happiness, I’m just a mirror for your love”, a style of which we haven’t heard before Dream Cave. Wounded hearts aside, ‘Promises’ treats us to Cloud Control’s superb harmonising and the cosmic guitar solos we’ve fallen in love with.
Recorded for the album live, ‘Promises’ follows Cloud Control’s first Dream Cave releases, ‘Dojo Rising’ and ‘Scar’. These three tracks showcase the band cherishing their elegant psychedelic pop whilst cutting loose from their roots and embracing a spirit of experimentation best exemplified by a Check Your Head-era Beastie Boys or a Led Zeppelin record.
The video for ‘Promises’, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oR9WioRaj7U), is out now and runs with the track’s theme of desperation by documenting an evening of two debauched lovers. Shot in L.A by director Keith Musil (Wiseblood, Twin Shadow, Willy Mason), be sure to keep your eyes peeled for some fleeting Cloud Control cameos!
