CLOUD CONTROL win FBi SMAC AWARD & MOST PLAYED artist of 2013
We’re thrilled that CLOUD CONTROL’S DREAM CAVE won RECORD OF THE YEAR at last night’s FBi SMAC (Sydney Music And Culture) AWARDS! It’s the fourth SMAC Award for Cloud Control with their debut Bliss Release winning the same title in 2010 as well as scooping up the award for Best Live Act, and Newcomer Of The Year in 2008.
In the US at the time of the awards, the guys recorded a little thank you video. Check it out HERE!
And the good news just kept rolling on in with FBi sharing their most played artists of 2013 with Cloud Control at the #1 spot! As a key supporter from day one, FBi played Cloud Control’s first demo which the band themselves dropped into the station on the monthly Music Open Day. Since then the band have received Album Of The Week nods for both releases and recently performed as the secret headliner at the wildly successful FBi Turns 10 festival at Sydney’s Carriageworks.
Bliss Release has already been honoured with the AMP Award and AIR Awards for Album of the Year and Best Breakthrough Artist. Now their stellar follow up, Dream Cave, is enjoying glory of its own with this win as well as recent J Award nomination and AMP Award long listing.
Cloud Control continue a very proud tradition of Ivy League acts taking out Record of the Year at the SMACs, with this being the 3rd year of the past 4 where an Ivy League artist has taken out this prestigious gong (Cloud Control having won previously in 2010 with their debut album and Lanie Lane’s ‘To the Horses’ winning in 2011). Ivy League plan to continue asking their artists to continue tailoring their music to fit the ‘FBI sound’.
