STEVE SMYTH joins the Ivy League + releases his single ‘Shake It’!

We are extremely proud to introduce to you to our brand new signing, the inimitable and remarkable Mr. STEVE SMYTH. His first Ivy release comes in the form of the rugged stomper ‘SHAKE IT’, and it’s OUT NOW!

Produced, recorded and backed by the supremely talented wrecking crew of  Joey Waronker on drums (Atoms For Peace, Thom Yorke, Beck,) and Gus Seyffert on bass (The Black Keys, Norah Jones), ‘Shake It’ is the first taste of Smyth’s Ivy League debut album, set for release later this year.  Recorded at the House of Seyffert in Echo Park with a view of the Hollywood Hills for company, ‘Shake It’ is the perfect introduction to the musical world of Steve Smyth: equal parts elastic backbeat, rock and roll fervour and sweet reflection, it binds a slice of blues with a clattering of staggered rhythms, punctuated by abstract guitars.

Steve’s live performances have to be experienced to be believed. Every performance is an event, every song a statement. He has a habit of putting a smile on every face in in the room, and encouraging previously unplanned whooping to erupt en masse and we can’t wait to share with you more from this brilliant talent!
