SURES release ‘WASTE’!

We’re stoked to release onto the world the brand new single ‘WASTE’ from Sydney’s brightest slackers SURES.

It’s been a busy 12 months for Sydney’s SURES after dropping their debut EP Stars, a release full of 90’s flavoured indie dream pop, featuring the singles ‘Poseidon’ and ‘Stars’. Since then, the band has split their time between touring the country alongside bands such as Best Coast, Real-Estate, Wavves, The Cribs, Vampire Weekend, Snakadaktal and Bleeding Knees Club, and writing and recording.

Produced by Dann Hume (Alpine, Snakadaktal, Matt Corby, Courtney Barnett, Lisa Mitchell), ‘WASTE’ (https://soundcloud.com/ivyleaguerecords/sures-waste) is a brilliantly crafted, angst ridden, time bomb of a song, building slowly until reaching a cathartic crescendo. Right from the opening line “Don’t know what to do but I can tell that you’ve been wasting my time”, frontman Jonas Nicholl’s biting lyrics punctuate the frustration at the essence of the track.

Ironically, wasting time is something that SURES seem to know little about, with a follow up EP soon to be released.

SURES are playing at The Standard in Sydney on 16 August with Glass Towers. Stay tuned for more dates soon to be announced.
