Watch The Rubens’ New Clip
The brand new video for The Rubens’ single ‘Don’t Ever Want To Be Found’ was directed by Andrew Lancaster and shot on Super 8 film in the band’s hometown of Menangle in rural New South Wales. The clip’s director had this to say about the process:
“Being The Rubens’ first clip, I wanted the video for ‘Don’t Ever Want To Be Found’ to have a lot of raw energy and a home grown feel. To achieve this, we used a couple of old 1960s Super 8 cameras and thought this would be a good opportunity to use this format before it is discontinued. With a small crew we were shown all the best hideouts around Menangle, the small country town where the band grew up.
“The rawness and ability to move the camera around, put it on the end of boom poles or fix it to moving objects, the way it reacts to sunlight with lens flares, the softness in focus with the wide angle lens, even the hair in the gate all add to that feeling of nostalgia.”
DON’T EVER WANT TO BE FOUND is available from iTunes now along with the home recording of LAY IT DOWN. THE RUBENS’ debut album will be released later this year.
